Leaving the familiarity of your current home for one where you don’t know the area, you may not understand the processes, and you don’t have a support system in place can be a challenge. Distance moving with your family can add further hurdles such as finding jobs for both spouses, locating schools and childcare, and generally making everyone feel at home in the new community.

We start working with relocating clients before they arrive. Our initial consultation takes place using video conferencing technology. During this meeting we work to understand what you need and want from your new home. This can include proximity to workplaces or certain schools, availability of public transit, or recreational amenities. This helps us to narrow down the areas within the GTA that make the most sense given your needs.

We will learn about your family and the type of housing you require. Will you need space for children or parents or pets? We will ask about your budget to set some parameters for our housing search. Before you arrive we will start sending you information about neighbourhoods and properties for sale so you can begin to learn about the local housing market.

When relocating clients arrive, we typically begin with an orientation tour, driving them through the area and pointing out schools, shopping, places of worship and recreational facilities. This gives you a good feel for the neighbourhood and lets you begin to narrow down the search area. We then shift focus to homes for sale and arrange appointments to view properties that meet your criteria.
